Vilhelm Lauritzen Pair of Guldpendel lamps

A pair of "Guldpendel" pendant lights designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen, manufactured by Louis Poulsen in Denmark, 1955. Lauritzen was a Danish architect who designed several iconic buildings in Copenhagen and high-end lighting.
The modern and functional approach he applied to architecture, is clearly visible in the lamps he designed for Louis Poulsen.
For this lamp, Lauritzen invented a brilliant but simple system to shorten (without cutting) and hide the electric wiring inside the lamp itself so that its aesthetics are in no way compromised. Aside from the tight architectural design, its golden coating and perforations add a luxurious touch. The Guldpendel light is a fine example of Lauritzen's restrained modernist style.
This pair is in good condition, with some small signs of wear due to use and age.
