Gae Aulenti Jumbo table in Carrara marble, Italy ca. 1966

An early mid century modern Jumbo coffee table designed by Gae Aulenti and made by Knoll. Carrara marble, originally designed in 1965. The Jumbo table is definitely one of the masterpieces designed by remarkable Italian designer Gae Aulenti. Square table top with four cylindrical cluster legs. This cocktail table is graceful in combination with opulent strength. Beautiful white Carrara marble with grey veining. This table is marked with the old Knoll trade mark on each part of the table. It’s therefor we know the table is an early production, since Knoll’s new corporate identity and logo had been introduced in 1967. An early production of a true design icon, in perfect condition.

Italian architect and designer Gae Aulenti studied architecture at the Politecnico di Milano. A member of ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale), she has taught at the Politecnico di Milano. She has designed furniture, lighting, textiles, showrooms, stage sets for opera and the interior of the Musée D’Orsay, Paris. She has participated in numerous Triennale di Milano, winning many awards. She is an honorary member of the American Society of Interior Designers.
