Rastad & Relling a pair of Bambi armchairs for Gustav Bahus, Norway 1955

Exceptional and rare armchair model Bambi designed by Rolf Rastad and Adolf Relling. Produced by Gustav Bahus and Eft, Os, Norway, 1955. The Bambi armchair is regarded as one of the most elegant and artistic chairs designed and manufactured in Norway from this period of time. The chair has a beautifully shaped teak frame and a cognac leather sling seat and skilfully curved back.
We have two chairs available.
The chairs are in very good original condition. The leather sling seats have a beautiful patina. One chair has an old restoration on the backrest. Additional pictures are available on request.

Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor was established in Oslo by Rolf Rastad and Adolf Relling in 1943. The agency stood out for quality raising and positive development of Norwegian furniture design for more than 25 years. Famous Norwegian furniture designers as Fredrik Kayser, Ingmar Relling, Sigurd Resell began their careers at Rastad and Relling Tegnekontor. The company established contacts with the fast growing furniture industry in western Norway like Gustav Bahus Eftf in Os, outside Bergen. Bahus produced several models of the agency’s exclusive models, including the Bambi chair.
