Ruud Jan Kokke pair of arm chairs, The Netherlands 1984

Elegant and light pair of arm chairs designed by Ruud Jan Kokke for Metaform in 1984. The ‘Kokke’ chair or “Latjes-stoel”, designed in 1984 and inspired by the work of Gerrit Rietveld, shows Ruud-Jan Kokke’s passion for material and construction techniques. With an oak frame and ash slat seat and backrest, the wood is tested to its maximum constructional strength and is surprisingly comfortable. The result is a perfect balance between material, form and use. Collectible pair of chairs.
Ruud-Jan Kokke’s designs are found in major musea including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam. The chairs are in very good condition with minor wear consistent with age and use. Hard to find as a pair.
