Societa Compensati Curvati (SCC) Monza dining chairs, Italy ca. 1955

A rare edition of four very sleek dining chairs by Societa Compensati Curvati (SCC) Monza Italy, ca. 1955. Design in the manner of Eugenio Gerli / Mario Cristiani / Vittorio Nobili.

The chairs feature a plywood shell seat and a metal base with four visible metal screws on top. The shell seats are made of a beautifully warm patinated beech plywood.
The original lacquer on the plywood shells is in good original condition with wear consistent with age and use. Beautiful brass details on the feet. Although the chairs have a very sleek appearance they are very sturdy and quite heavy weight.
Additional pictures of the shell of each chair are available on request.
The chairs remind of the Medea chair by Vittorio Nobili but have a better seating comfort since the shells are a bit larger.
