Berlin Daybed by Bruno Mathsson, Sweden, 1969

A birch wood Berlin daybed designed by Bruno Mathsson, Sweden 1969. This iconic Scandinavian daybed is known as the Berlin daybed, since it was first shown in 1957 at the International Building Exhibition in Berlin. The bed frame is slightly elevated at the headboard and features skillfully bent tapered legs and raised edges. The daybed has its original finish and is signed Bruno Mathsson design Made in Sweden, as well as signed and dated by manufacturer, the Swedish firm Karl Mathsson. Model T303 is no longer in production. The mattress has recently been upholstered with a beautiful ivory bouclé wool. We added the cushion. In excellent condition.
