Cees Braakman DB02 sideboard for Pastoe, the Netherlands 1954

Modernist sideboard DB02 designed by Cees Braakman for UMS Pastoe, The Netherland, 1954. The model name DB02 refers to Dressoir Birch number 02 and is made from birchwood and birch plywood. This stylish piece has great early modernist features that refer to earlier plywood design by ao Edward Wormley and Alvar Aalto. The sideboard has a lot of storage space, anti-dust drawers and two shelves. The bentwood feet are characteristic for the birch series.
The light birch wood has a great patina. In good authentic condition, with some signs of age and use, some wear to the veneer on two of the doors and it has a hole in the backside.
