Hans Wegner GETAMA teak daybed, Denmark ca. 1956

A teak daybed designed by Hans Wegner for GETAMA, Denmark, circa 1956. This teak wooden daybed shows a beautiful contrast in materials. Solid teak is used for the legs and frame. The cane headboard on one side is definitely a highlight to this daybed and adds a beautiful Mid-Century Modern touch to the otherwise Minimalist design. The daybed comes with a completely new mattress and neck roll pillow, executed in a high quality black aniline leather with leather buttons. The underside reveals the solid wooden frame and brass spring coils which provide support and lots of comfort. The piece is branded with manufacturer’s stamp and name of the designer. It can be used in a variety of ways in virtually any modern environment. In excellent condition.
