Pierre Paulin pair of F598 Groovy chairs in wool for Artifort, The Netherlands 1973

An iconic pair of Artifort F598 chairs, designed by Pierre Paulin for Artifort, The Netherlands 1973. These lounge chairs have, like all Paulin designs, a great seating comfort. Form and function fully collide in these sculptural lounge chairs.
The Artifort F598, also called “Groovy chair” or “M-chair” is the perfect lounge chair to add visual interest to any space. From every single angle, the chair offers stunning lines and rich texture.
The chair is a great example of a Pierre Paulin design; it has pure and curvy lines, coupled with craftsmanship and delicate research into proportions, materials and the requirements of the human body. This pair of lounge chairs has recently been reupholstered in a high quality natural and irregular boucle wool which feels soft and looks wonderful on the curvy shape of the chairs. The aluminium sliders that support the feet are marked with manufactures stamp on the frontside.

The pictures also show the impressive work of art by Dutch artists Anouk Griffioen, Udona Boerema, Stijn Rompa, De Gebroeders Miedema and Warffemius and are on view in our gallery and on this website in the menu “contemporary”.
