A set of four sculptural dining chairs produced by VAMO Sønderborg in Denmark, 1960s. It is unknown who the designer of this dining chair is, but it’s obvious this is a design from a top architect such as Torbjørn Afdal, Arne Vodder or Johannes Andersen. The latter two are known to have worked at VAMO Sønderborg in the early 1960s. The design of the carved back of this chair is exceptionally beautiful and skillfully executed. The chairs are made of high quality afrormosia, which is an african teak wood. The seats have new foam on the inside and are reupholstered with a high quality leather with a beautiful patina. The chairs are marked at the bottom of the seat with the manufacturers stamp and are in excellent condition.
