Arne Vodder XXL executive desk by Sibast, Denmark 1960

XXL executive desk designed by Arne Vodder and produced by Sibast, Denmark 1960. This very elegant L-shaped rosewood executive desk offers a lot of working space and storage options. The piece consists of a higher and lower part. This is the largest version of the desk. The extra large rosewood desk top measures 248 cm x 104.5 cm. The case unit consists of three drawers, a unit with a shelf and five colored trays, which can be hidden behind the sliding door. The desk is recently restored and refinished with a protective lacquer. The colored drawers are not repainted and are in original condition with some wear due to use and age. Before the restoration the desk was provided with a small panel with 3 buttons on top of the cabinet. The panel is removed and the holes are professionally restored. The restoration is visible but not disturbing and partly hidden under the desk top.
Like all Vodder pieces, only the best materials were used. The base of the desk is made of solid rosewood and both cabinet and desk top have a beautiful wood grain. The locks are working properly and come with original key. The desk has beautiful details and is made with great Danish craftsmanship.
Designer and architect Arne Vodder should be counted among the most influential Scandinavian Mid-Century designers of the 20th century.
