Early edition Arne Jacobsen Swan chair in original cognac leather Denmark, 1964

Gorgeous early edition Swan chair designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen, Denmark, 1964. This chair, Model 3320, better known as Swan is in very good fully original condition. The chair is still very sturdy, the foam inside has not dried over the years and it retains the beautiful original cognac leather upholstery which has a gorgeous rich patina. The leather shows only minor traces of use. On the seat there are some folds due age and use but this is absolutely not disturbing and it underlines the original character of the chair. The chair has a four-star swivel base which is adjustable in height, moulded in one piece. It is marked with manufacturers label and dated 10/64.
A true design icon from an early edition in very good sustainable condition.

Arne Jacobsen designed the Swan for the lobby and lounge areas at the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen in 1958. Back then, the Swan was a technologically innovative chair with no straight lines, only curves.
