Henri Mathieu pair of Shell table lamps, France ca. 1970

Magnificent pair shell shaped brushed aluminium table lamps designed by Henri Mathieu for Mathieu Lustrerie, circa 1970.
The lamps are made of aluminium slats which form the spiral shape and spread the light in an amazing joyful and decorative way. We have disassembled the lamps to rewire and clean them thoroughly. One of the lamps comes originally with a metal pen holder. We like the lamps better without this, kept it available, but replaced it for a stainless steel button to cover the hole. Highly decorative pair of French Mid-Century Modern lamps in excellent condition.
