Kouloufi coffee table, Belgium 1958

A bronze and glass coffee table designed by Kouloufi for Ets Vanderborght Frères SA, Brussels 1958. Vanderborght Frères was a Brussels-based interior company, similar to Maison Janssen or Maison Baguès. This high quality rectangular coffee table features a solid brass base composed of double arches which are connected to each other by two stretchers. The table has the original thick clear glass table top which is in very good condition.
The table is documented on a photo of the interior that was designed by Vanderboght Frères for the 1958 World Expo in Brussels; a Taschen publication of 1950s decorative art – p.249 – Etablissements Vanderborght Frères SA.
