Norman Foster large Nomos 280 cm table, Italy 1986

A large Nomos dining table, conference table or desk, designed in 1986 by Sir Norman Foster and manufactured by Tecno, Mariano Comense, Italy 1986. The frame of the Nomos table is conceived as a rigid, zoomorphic skeleton. The table’s striking appearance and refined design have made it one of the most recognisable products of international design.
This largest version of the Nomos table, with a length of 110.24 inch / 280 cm, consists of a chromed metal base on black pad feet and the original 15 mm thick glass table top. The feet are adjustable in height. Cast Tecno mark to the frame. The desk/table comes complete with a black leather sous-main desk pad which measures 80 x 100 cm.
The leather pad adds practical comfort when the table is used as an executive desk. The pad shows minor wear due to age and use.

This iconic design piece has won the Compasso d’Oro for Nomos design Foster & Partners, 1987.
