Exceptional and architectural lounge chair designed by Sonja Wasseur, the Netherlands ca. 1970. In the early 1970’s Sonja Wasseur had her atelier in Amsterdam where she produced her occasional brutalist lounge chairs in small editions. Her work was produced for only a short period of time. The distinctive chairs of Sonja Wasseur are authentic and are not comparable with any other designs from this period.
This very rare Grasshopper lounge chair is her most uncommon and remarkable chair. An object of art that is beautiful from all sides. The chair has a low sling seat and an ajustable back and cushion with contra weight. The lounge chair has four different reclining positions that can be adjusted by the user. The chair is in good vintage and original condition.
